Every year on the last Saturday of June an amazing team organises an full day event to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
Lowestoft Armed Forces Day enjoyed its 13th year and are pleased to bring you the original and longest-running Armed Forces Day in Suffolk in conjunction with the National Event held in Llandudno this year! and I had the honour of being asked to be the official event photographer.
There were incredible arena displays from the Band of the Irish Guards, Air Cadets, Army Cadets, Sea Cadets, Salvation Army, The City of Norwich Pipe Band, Norfolk Military Vehicle Group and our veterans and serving Armed Forces.
Hot off the back of entertaining at Harry & Meghan's wedding we were honoured to have not one, but two fantastic performances from the Band of the Irish Guards - who interacted with their audience, they must have been really sweltering in their uniforms as temperatures rose but not once did they show it.
The Tri-Service Cadet Challenge was a new addition to Lowestoft Armed Forces Day 2018 and looks to be a future main stay...
The 3 Cadet Forces have a team of 4 and have to build a raft in 10 minutes sturdy enough to stand on for 30 seconds.
The Suffolk Army Cadet Force: 6.30
469 Lowestoft Air Training Corps: 9.10
Lowestoft Sea Cadets: 9.30
Well done to our winners The Army Cadets!
They take home the Trophy presented by Phil Turner, chairman of the Lowestoft and District Royal British Legion.
There really was something for everyone - the full gallery of images can be seen at https://denisebradyphotography.pixieset.com/armedforcesday-lowestoft-1/
